Frequently Asked Questions
We've pulled together answers to the questions we get asked most often. If there's anything else you'd like to know, don't hesitate to get in touch.
General
What areas do you cover?
We serve all of London and the wider South East, including Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Essex, Hertfordshire, and Berkshire. If you're unsure whether we cover your area, give us a call and we'll let you know.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We are a registered waste carrier with the Environment Agency, SafeContractor approved, and hold full public liability insurance. We're happy to provide documentation on request.
Do you work weekends?
We're open Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm, and Saturdays from 8am to 5pm. We're closed on Sundays.
How quickly can you come?
In most cases we can offer same-day or next-day service. It depends on availability and your location, but we always do our best to fit around your timescale.
Waste Collection
What types of waste do you collect?
We handle almost everything, including construction and builders waste, commercial and trade waste, household rubbish, garden waste, furniture, appliances, and hazardous waste. If you're not sure whether we can take something, just ask.
What is a wait and load service?
It's a flexible alternative to hiring a skip. We bring a vehicle to your property, wait while you load it up (or our team can load for you), and then take everything away. It's ideal for London streets where there isn't space for a skip or where you'd need a permit.
Do you provide waste transfer notes?
Yes. We provide full waste transfer documentation for every job, so you have a complete record that your waste has been disposed of legally and responsibly.
What happens to my waste after collection?
Everything we collect is taken back to our facility and carefully sorted. Recyclable materials are sent to specialist recycling centres, reusable items are donated to charity partners or sold on, and construction materials are processed for reuse. We currently recycle or rehome over 95% of what we collect.
Clearance Services
How does a house clearance work?
It starts with a free, no-obligation quote. We'll visit the property or discuss the job over the phone to understand what needs clearing. On the agreed day, our team arrives, clears everything, and leaves the property clean and tidy. We sort all items for recycling, donation, or responsible disposal.
Can you handle probate clearances?
Absolutely. We work regularly with solicitors, estate agents, and families to manage probate clearances sensitively and professionally. Our team is experienced in identifying items of value and will always check with you before anything is removed.
Do you clear commercial properties as well as homes?
Yes. We clear offices, schools, storage units, retail premises, and any other commercial space. We can provide duty-of-care documentation and work around your business hours to minimise disruption.
Can you remove just one item?
Of course. Whether it's a sofa, a fridge, a mattress, or an old wardrobe, we're happy to collect single items. Most single item removals can be arranged within 24 hours.
Pricing & Booking
How much do you charge?
Every job is different, so we provide tailored quotes based on the volume of waste, the type of materials, access to the property, and your location. We always agree a price upfront and we never charge more than the quoted amount.
Is there a call-out fee?
No. Our quotes are free and come with no obligation. You only pay if you go ahead with the job.
How do I book?
You can call us on +44 7791 101823, email hello@aaawaste.co.uk, or fill in the quote form on our Contact page. We'll get back to you as quickly as we can.
Do I need to be there on the day?
Not always. For some jobs we can arrange access without you being present, as long as we've agreed everything in advance. We'll discuss this with you when we confirm the booking.
